Pilot to Hire 10,000+ Employees in Advance of Summer Travel Season

Pilot plans to hire 10,000 new employees for the summer travel season.

Pilot Company — parent company of Pilot and Flying J — plans to hire more than 10,000 new employees across North America as it gears up for the busy summer season.

In addition to the more than 750 Pilot and Flying J travel center locations across the U.S. and Canada — which serve an average of 1.3 million guests per day — Pilot Company also encompasses a tanker fleet of 1,500 trucks and the One9 Fuel Network, which provides fueling locations for smaller fleets and independent drivers.

The company is hiring across all of its business and locations, with the largest number of openings in key travel states including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Texas and Virginia. Open roles include hourly retail and food service positions, leadership positions in restaurants and travel centers and Class A CDL drivers.

Both full- and part-time employees receive a number of benefits including fuel discounts, meal and beverage credits, low-cost health plans, tuition assistance, paid time off and access to the Fueling Recognition rewards program, which lets team members earn points for hard work and milestones that can be redeemed for restaurant gift cards, company swag, concert tickets and thousands of other items.

“This is an exciting and rewarding time to join Pilot,” said Jamie Landis, VP of Team Member Experience at Pilot Company in a statement. “In addition to great perks and benefits, the launch of our new rewards and recognition program, Fueling Recognition, further empowers leaders to celebrate and reward individuals in those moments that matter, big and small.”

In March 2022, Pilot Company launched New Horizons, a $1 billion initiative to remodel its stores nationwide and give back to local communities. Feedback from team members and guests was incorporated into store remodels, making improvements that mattered to them and upgrades that provide team members with better technology, spaces and equipment to make their jobs faster, easier and more rewarding.
