Banana Republic Expands Home Goods Options with Bedding, Rugs and Décor

Banana Republic has expanded its selection of home goods with an exclusive spring collection of premium bedding, rugs, pillows and décor. The new additions to the BR Home collection will focus on craftsmanship and sourcing products using high-quality and natural fabrics such as European linen, plush cotton cashmere and organic cotton.

BR Home includes items crafted by artisans from around the globe, exclusively created and curated by Banana Republic. Prices for the new selections will range from $40 for a washed cotton pillowcase set to $7,500 for handwoven rugs made in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco.

“Discovery and self-expression are an integral part of our customers’ lives at home, work and away,” said Aaron Rose, Head of Commerce and Experience for Banana Republic in a statement. “We know our customers care deeply about great style, design and quality in all aspects of their lives, and we are excited for BR Home to be a central part of their personal lifestyle.”

Banana Republic has been steadily expanding its product selection to encompass new options. In Fall 2022 the retailer launched ART, a collection of exclusive works from artists and photographers with an emphasis on travel, culture and nature that donates 5% of its sales to the World Wildlife Fund. In March 2022, the retailer branched out into mainstream clothing categories with BR Baby and BR Athletics.

Banana Republic, like its parent company Gap, is seeking ways to turn around a steady sales decline. Banana Republic’s comparable sales dropped 3% in Q4 2022, which ended Jan. 28. The decline was driven by softness in outerwear and sweaters as well as its holiday gifting assortment, but the retailer expects interest in its occasion- and work-based categories to grow as shoppers go back to work and events post-COVID.
