The Emoji Company GmbH is partnering with UNIS Technology Ltd. on a new emoji-branded entertainment concept that brings retail and entertainment together. The venture into physical experiences will elevate the emoji brand’s already significant global presence, which is driven by a rights portfolio of 1,000 trademarks, more than 20,000 brand icons and designs and more than 1,400 licensing partners, including Burger King, L’Oréal and Puma.

The Emojiplanet Entertainment Centers are designed to be family-friendly experiences that give visitors the chance to play emoji-themed arcade games and crane machines, win or purchase exclusive emoji-branded merchandise and engage with various social media moments. The companies will first open flagships in Canada, China and the U.S., with additional global locations to follow.

The deal, which was orchestrated by licensing company WildBrain CPLG, is poised to elevate the Emoji Company’s position in the family entertainment space. “We are excited to create physical spaces where families can engage with the emoji brand in an interactive and fun-filled environment,” said Marco Huesges, CEO and Founder of the Emoji Company GmbH in a statement.

By creating an environment where fans engage with their favorite emoji brand characters, the companies are “not only delivering a unique experience but also a vibrant platform for fans to immerse themselves in the world of the emoji brand like never before,” noted Steven Tan, General Manager of UNIS in a statement.
