Kohl’s Taps Tuesday Morning CEO as New Director of Stores

Kohl's has hired Tuesday Morning CEO Fred Hand as its new Senior EVP and Director of Stores to help improve brick-and-mortar sales and productivity.

Kohl’s has hired a new Senior EVP and Director of Stores to help improve brick-and-mortar sales and productivity. Fred Hand, who has deep experience with discount and department store brands, is now overseeing the retailer’s 1,100+ stores, store operations and experience, loss prevention and store experience and design functions. He reports directly to President and COO Dave Alves.

“Fred has a deep appreciation and passion for the power that brick-and-mortar retail plays in an omnichannel business model,” said Alves in a statement. “He is committed to serving customers by empowering stores and associates and we are excited to welcome him to the Kohl’s team.”

Hand has decades of store leadership and C-suite experience, including more than 30 years leading the stores organizations at several national retailers. He served as COO of Burlington for 13 years and held stores and visual merchandising leadership roles at May Department Stores (then Macy’s) and Filene’s. Most recently, he was CEO of home goods retailer Tuesday Morning.
